Information on the location

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (also known as Tony Hawk's American Sk8land on its' handheld ports) is the seventh entry in the Tony Hawk's series, developed by Neversoft and published by Activision. It is a skateboarding video game that allows the player to perform tricks. The game contains two game modes: story mode, which follows the player, who has left home, and his journey to be accepted by the local pro skaters; and classic mode, which allows the player to complete a series of goals in certain levels within a two-minute time limit. The game is notable for being the first Tony Hawk's game to release for the Xbox 360, the first game in the series to support Xbox Live, as well as the first third-party Nintendo DS game to support the now-discontinued Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service.

The game received positive reception, with most praising its' gameplay, story, though were critical on how the Los Angeles levels were advertised. The game currently has received "generally favorable reviews" on the review aggregator website Metacritic.

Appearance in the rap battle

This is the location where Tony Hawk rapped the second half of his first verse, starting with the line, "And all the ice underneath you will get melted into water," and ending at, "I got this covered like gravy on poutine!" The visual effects in the battle are based on the game's cover art, which features the skyline of Los Angeles and the famous Hollywood sign in purple, silhouettes of skaters and bikers performing tricks, and Tony Hawk in the center holding a skateboard in black and white.

Trivia
