Appearance in the rap battles
Billy Mays vs Ben Franklin:
This is the location where Billy Mays rapped. At the beginning of his verse, two sponges, a bottle of cola, a scrubbing brush, and some cloth in a bowl could be seen on a table, which Mays broke during the line, "Watch me crush this bald, fat, foppish founding father!" Throughout the battle, this screen said "FREE GIFT! (WHEN YOUR ORDER MORE THAN YOU NEED)" on the top left corner, "CALL NOW, LIMITED* SUPPLY" on the top right corner, and "*SUPPLIES ARE LIMITED*, *SUPPLIES ARE NOT LIMITED" on the bottom of the screen. Multiple still images of Ben Franklin also made an appearance during the lines, "I'll take my Awesome Auger and sow your Quaker Oats! I'll shoot your rhymes down like a regiment of redcoats!" During the line "And leader in home sales!", the commercial is seen on a yellow analog television set.
A different shot of the infomercial could also be seen throughout parts of Mays' verse, which included the price of $1995 plus S&H, the phone number "1-800-555-EPIC," and sayings like, "NOT ALLOWED IN STORES, 14 DAY WARRANTY, BEWARE OF IMITATORS," and "FIRST 15 CALLERS GET A FREE MYSTERY ROCK!"
Bob Ross vs Pablo Picasso:
While not directly appearing in the battle, reused footage of Billy Mays in the OxiClean commercial could be seen on Pablo Picasso's television during his second verse.
Trivia
- The Epic Rap Battles of History logo replaces the OxiClean logo on both the background and Mays' shirt with a similar font.
- This makes it the second background to have its title altered, after The O'Reilly Factor.
- It is the first where the changes are related to the series
- The section that says "FREE GIFT! (WHEN YOUR ORDER MORE THAN YOU NEED)" is grammatically incorrect. It should read as "(WHEN YOU ORDER MORE THAN YOU NEED)" instead.
- It is the fourth background to appear in more than one battle.
