Information on the cameo
Janine Melnitz is the secretary for the Ghostbusters. Throughout most Ghostbusters media, she is often displayed as having a romantic attraction towards Egon Spengler; however, in Ghostbusters II, she is seen in a relationship with the Ghostbusters' financial adviser and lawyer, Louis Tully.
Appearance in the rap battle
Janine Melnitz appeared in the Firehouse Headquarters after Ray Stantz said the line, "Spitting out the lyrics like…", finishing the sentence by yelling, "We got one!"
Trivia
- Melnitz is the third speaking cameo to fill in a rhyme for a rapper, after the Dalek and Jimmy Olsen.
- Her line is a reference to a scene from the first Ghostbusters film.[1]
- In the movie, the bell doesn't ring until after she hangs up the phone, says "We got one!", and presses down on a button, but in the battle, the bell rings as soon as she hangs up and before she says this phrase.
