Information on the host
Franklin Delano Roosevelt, born on January 30th, 1882, in Hyde Park, New York, was the 32nd President of the United States from March 4th, 1933, to June 12th, 1945. He was elected to office a record of four times, but died in his fourth term of natural causes. He passed several laws and acts that became known as the "New Deal", and helped the United States get out of the Great Depression. He also led the United States through World War II and was known as one of "The Big Three" alongside British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, and the General Secretary of the U.S.S.R, Joseph Stalin. He was also the Governor of New York and Assistant Secretary of the Navy prior to his Presidency. He was afflicted with polio for the entirety of his presidency, confining him to a wheelchair.
Roosevelt died at the age of 63 on April 12th, 1945, in Warm Springs, Georgia. Soon after his passing, the United States Congress enacted the 24th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, severely limiting a President's tenure to no more than two elected terms in office, which both put a longstanding tradition in writing and prevented Roosevelt's feats from being repeated in future years.
